SOLIDARITY GROUPS

Solidarity groups hold direct relationships and organize with BIPOC-led movements and organizations.

Abolition Solidarity Group

The Abolition Solidarity Group (ASG) is a group within CARW that has been meeting since May 2021 and works toward a world without police, prisons, or borders in solidarity with a range of BIPOC-led groups, including Freedom Project and Creative Justice. We do a broad range of abolition work, from advocating for policies that reduce the criminal punishment system to mutual aid to education/deep canvassing in our own communities. Deepening our understanding of transformative justice is the foundation for everything we do together. We meet first and third Tuesday evenings each month, alternating in-person and on-line. Please join us!

Migrant Justice Solidarity Group

The Migrant Justice Solidarity Group (MJSG) is a group within CARW that works for migrant and immigration justice through the lens of racial justice and abolition. We partner with La Resistencia, a group led by those most impacted by immigrant detention, whose goal is to shut down the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, and end all detention and deportation in WA. Alongside our accountability relationship with La Resistencia and building relationships with other organizations, we gather as a group to build community and to continually learn and unlearn together. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month online, as well as occasional in-person get togethers. We'd love for you to join us!
